I am so blessed to have found this article. God wants me to share the gospel to people caught up in this ancestral trap. He wants me to share that He loves his people and wants to talk to them, walk with them in the cool of the day. That He is a real God, who wants his people close to Him.

Thanks for the perspective – I especially needed to hear the concept that Christ supercedes culture. What I would like is some clear guidelines concerning ancestral worship practices in Xhosa culture. I farm with goats. If someone takes a goat for one of their ceremonies – especially common are requests when boys go through their initiation into manhood – is one encouraging ancestral worship? Can the goat sacrifices be used for good or do they totally contradict the gospel?
